Happy things for today.

Today I am thankful for:

• My wonderful friend, Julie, who always knows what to say to bring me back to center when I go flying off on a tear.
• My daughter and her sly, sharp wit and amazing common sense.  How can she be only 13?  Conversely, how can she be 13 already?
• My son who still calls me mama at age 14 and wouldn’t think of not hugging me or telling me he loves me just because his friends are standing there.
• Tampons and other modern feminine hygiene products.  Considering the alternative, I’m pretty happy about tampons.
• The way my dog curls up her 50-pound self into an impossibly small circle when she sleeps next to my desk.
• L’Oreal Double-Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara.  You should see my eyelashes.
